It is said that if  you happen to see the Wild Hunt passing by in wild pursuit, you have witnessed a bad omen which could even foretell your own death. These souls of the dead dash through the woods are usually led by some legendary figure and will gather up souls as they race along, sometimes even pulling them away from sleeping bodies and abduct them to the Underworld.
